New date for the new digital health event: Smart Health Europe, 26–28 October 2027 in Berlin

Smart Health Europe will make its debut in Berlin from 26 to 28 October 2027, bringing together Europe’s digital health community from the healthcare sector, business, academia and politics. The event will focus on five key future themes in digital healthcare, as well as an international programme featuring an exhibition, networking opportunities and the Bitkom Digital Health Conference.

From 2027, autumn in Berlin will be all about digital healthcare: from 26 to 28 October 2027, Messe Berlin will host Smart Health Europe for the first time – the new event dedicated to the digitalisation of the healthcare sector. Smart Health Europe brings together decision-makers from the healthcare sector, business, academia and politics, creating a central platform for exchange, innovation and international cooperation.

With a mix of exhibition, conference programme, networking and interactive formats, Smart Health Europe will become the new meeting place for the European digital health community.

Dr Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, says: “What makes Berlin such a successful trade fair venue is that we focus on the topics and needs of our exhibitors. That is why, together with our partner Bitkom, we have held countless discussions over the past few weeks and decided on the new date in the autumn. We look forward to bringing together industry, users and policymakers from the digital health sector in Germany and Europe even more effectively in Berlin in future. Because one thing has become clear once again in our discussions with clients: the challenges facing the healthcare sector can only be overcome through digitalisation and by thinking outside the box. Smart Health Europe will provide a unique platform for precisely this purpose.”

As the national partner association, Bitkom is responsible for the conference programme and is organising the Digital Health Conference 2027 for the first time as part of Smart Health Europe.

Dr Bernhard Rohleder, CEO of Bitkom: “Smart Health Europe is creating a European platform for digital health. It addresses the key future issues facing the sector – from AI in medicine and care, through to better use of health data and digital care models. Together with Messe Berlin and stakeholders from the healthcare sector, the digital economy, academia and politics, we are demonstrating how digital, data-driven healthcare can succeed in Europe.”

The five clusters of Smart Health Europe

At the heart of Smart Health Europe are five thematic exhibition clusters that reflect the key challenges and opportunities facing modern healthcare systems: from anchor hospitals and the health data economy to healthcare convergence, the resilience of the healthcare system and prevention.

Smart Health Europe sees itself as a European platform with an international perspective. It complements Smart Health Asia, which will take place for the first time in Singapore on 1 and 2 July 2026 – and is also an event organised by Messe Berlin. In doing so, it promotes the transfer of innovation and best practices between Europe, Asia and global healthcare markets.
